Sharing some highlights of different Design Thinking/ Design Sprint workshops and exercises I've been part of.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis crowded spaces and direct interactions are dangerous to health and safety to communities. The “Winter Wonderland” is therefore cancelled.
This also represents a threat to local and seasonal businesses and craftsman that heavily depend on the Christmas market.
Thanks to digital advancements, we can create experiences virtually to bring social, economic, and cultural benefits to our communities and local businesses.
To find the real pain points and to come up with creative ideas, we needed to listen to real users. In this case, an expert gave insights in an interview. Mostly the problems were related to the community, the shopping experience, and Christmas activities with friends and family. We rephrased problems into „How might we?“ statements.

After translating the „How might we?“ - questions
into mobile- or web-based ideas/ solutions, we prioritised our
findings in terms of feasibility and importance. Our findings in the research phase showed that a major concern was the lapse of unique interactions between people and local, seasonal craftsmen who are heavily dependant on the Christmas markets. These interactions take place only once a year and at no other time of the year.
Our idea of „Christmas Handmades“ App was born!

"I’d like to meet with my two friends for dinner. They usually count on me to find the best possible place at a reasonable price and book a table."
